A Letter of Welcome from the Director of Connections

Welcome to Saint John’s, your home away from home. I am glad that you have found your way to our website and hope that you will be led to discover the joy of joining us in person. All who enter are treated as beloved family members of our diverse, inclusive, intergenerational community of Christian love.

Visitor parking has been reserved for you near the church entrance on Wynona Street. For those with accessibility needs, there are designated nearby spaces and a ramp that extends from the sidewalk to the entrance area. At our open doors, everyone can expect to be warmly greeted by a hospitality team member who is willing to answer any questions and direct you toward the sanctuary. On your way, you are invited to stop by the welcome center at the end of the entry hall. You will be met by another friendly person who will offer you a visitor bag and a name tag for you to sign as desired. A viewing screen will display church activities and information. The hospitality ambassador is ready to assist you with any inquiries. At the sanctuary entrance, you will be greeted by an usher who will give you the opportunity to take a bulletin or scan a QR code which allows you to digitally access the bulletin, Friendship Book registry, online offering option, prayer request form, and our newsletter. If you need hearing assistance, you may obtain a device inside the sanctuary to the right of the door, or you may follow instructions in the bulletin to use the ListenEverywhere app on your phone. Seating is open for your choice with consideration for distancing in available pews. Words to congregational hymns, liturgy, responses, and prayers will appear on a large chancel screen.

My hope is that your time with us is comfortable and fulfilling, both personally and spiritually, and that you feel a sense of belonging. It has been our experience that guests have instantly felt at home among us, and they subsequently return. May you share that feeling as you explore and strengthen your faith in our supportive environment that meets you where you are and walks alongside you in a journey that brings us closer to God, each other, and the world around us.

I look forward to getting to share our home, Saint John's, with you!

Rebecca Witte
