Plant of the Week: Turk’s Cap
Hello! My name is Turk’s Cap, and we should get acquainted! As you can see, my lovely flowers resemble Turkish turbans. I usually have a 2-3 foot spread but have been known to reach 10 feet. Hummingbirds love me! I’m known as a Texas Native Superstar because once established, I am very heat- and drought-tolerant. I bloom from late spring through fall, and can grow well in my light conditions, especially flourishing in part shade but I’m pretty versatile. Come by and meet me in the Saint John’s Pollinator Garden in front of the building; you’ll be able to see my turbans up close!
