Pumpkin Patch Time!

Let mutual affection continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers,
for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.

~ Hebrews 13:1-2

Pumpkin Patch Time!

This past Sunday in worship, we "planted" some pumpkins around the sanctuary as part of our pumpkin patch announcement, and it was such a joy to see the congregation practice passing the pumpkins down the line, a kind of dress rehearsal for unloading day.

Well, Church, it's almost Show Time! This Sunday, October 5, we’ll come together as a church family to prepare for the arrival of the pumpkins! Our anticipation of transforming the playground into a place of wonder and joy is building! First pitched 33 years ago, this idea has become a beloved Saint John’s tradition. We have been lovingly nicknamed “The Pumpkin Church.” And we need you to help unload, volunteer to work a shift, or buy a pumpkin!

Each year, little ones visit for story time and love wandering around the pumpkins, expressing their joy of discovery. Frequently, visitors share their memories of coming to the patch when they were young, and now they have a family of their own, and visit the patch to create their own traditions. The pumpkin patch is one of our outreach missions that impacts our community and us. And many ministries reap the benefits: Missions, Grace Garden, Children and Youth, Senior Adults, and United Women in Faith.

Please join us for one of two pumpkin unloading parties on Sunday, October 5. The first is after the 11 a.m. service, and the second is at 1 p.m. We need your help transforming the playground into a space filled with exploration and delight. All physical abilities are needed!

And of course, from October 6 until Halloween, we have many shifts that need workers. You can sign up by clicking here. Help us connect with our neighbors. Together let’s make lasting memories that draw our circle wider still.
