As the pastoral leader at Saint John's, Paul helps to lead the spiritual and administrative facets of the church’s life into a unified whole. He leads worship, preaches, and assists the congregation’s leadership in planning and decision making to fulfill the church’s mission.

Georjean Blanton, Associate Pastor

Georjean preaches and leads our efforts toward intentional faith development.  She works with adult Sunday School classes.  And she can help interested persons with spiritual direction--praying to help discern where the Spirit may be moving in their lives.

Pat Thomas, Pastor for Congregational Care

Pat facilitates our Homebound Visiting Ministry, and enjoys visiting with and praying for our homebound congregation. She oversees our Congregational Care, Prayer Requests, and Prayer Blankets. She assists in worship services, does hospital visits, and facilitates both children and adult classes. As a volunteer, Pat oversees WomenCare, a ministry to help women in need.

Valerie Vogt, Director of Student Ministries and Missions

Valerie seeks your input to ensure a comprehensive Student Ministries program that positively affects the lives of youth.  From pool parties and games in the park to Sunday School and summer mission trips, she enjoys spending time with students.  As mission director, she helps the congregation connect to God by serving others from Uganda to here in Austin.

Catherine Foster, Diaconal Minister Emerita
Catherine was affirmed as a Diaconal Minister in 1977, a position dedicated to a special ministry. Catherine's particular area of dedication has been Christian education. Now retired, she continues to support Saint John's with her presence and knowledge.

John Anderson, Certified Lay Minister
John is a Certified Lay Minister with Saint John's UMC. When not volunteering at church, John is a Certified Public Accountant and has a litigation support practice which he started in 1984. John graduated from the University of Texas in 1961, and he and his wife, Betty, are native Austinites. Their family includes a son, Tommy, his wife, and three grandchildren.

Jeanette Ball, Director of Senior Adult Ministries

Jeanette directs the Cokesbury Choir, a lively group of senior adults. She also coordinates the delivery of communion and CDs of worship services to the homebound, coordinates activities for older adults, such as table games, day trips, and spring and fall dinners, and leads daytime Bible study and spiritual growth classes. Jeanette works part-time.

Carolyn Beaird, Financial & Membership Secretary

Carolyn maintains membership information, and processes contributions, accounts payable, and payroll. Please call her if you change any of your contact information, if you want to get on or off the newsletter list, or if you have a question about your contributions.

Kym Borman, Program Director of Grace Garden Child Development Center

Kym has been a member of Saint John’s UMCfor over five years now as well as the Director of Grace Garden Child Development Center for over four years. She was a Pediatric/ Labor and Delivery RN in her life before children. She has a daughter, who has just started Kindergarten, and a son who is in preschool at Grace Garden. One of Kym’s greatest loves in life is the joy she finds in working with children of all ages.

Tracy Burger, Director of Children's Ministries

Tracy oversees all Children's Ministries, with primary focus on the 4-year-olds through 4th Grade.

David Cappolino, Organist/Pianist
David serves as the organist/pianist for the 9 a.m. service.He accompanies soloists and choirs that perform and helps coordinate musical activities for that service. He is also a saxophonist and singer.

Cina Crisara, Director of Music

Cina directs the Chancel Choir and the Trinity singers, and helps to coordinate all of the musical offerings that happen during services and special events. She is also a pianist and accompanist. Collaboration is very important to Cina, along with good team work. Always, the more the merrier for all ensembles and special events.

Joaquin Martinez, Custodian
Joaquin is here mostly on the evenings and Sundays. Whether you need a door unlocked or have had a little spill, he is here to help. He coordinates with the Facilities Manager to set-up all evening and Sunday events.

Virgil McCullough, Media Coordinator

Virgil coordinates sound and visual media operations for worship services and other events.. Virgil works part-time.

Lynda Oswalt, Pianist/Organist
As a church pianist and organist, Lynda Oswalt accompanies the Cokesbury Choir. The choir members rehearse every Wednesday morning at 10:45 preparing for their outreach performances in retirement and nursing homes where Saint John's members reside. In addition to the Cokesbury Choir, Lynda enjoys providing organ music for extra services at Saint John's.

Sally Rodgers, Early Childhood Coordinator

Sally provides programming and support for expectant parents, children ages 0-3, and their parents. She also schedules childcare, supervises the childcare staff, and oversees the operations of the church nursery.

Sallie Sassano, Director of Hospitality Ministry

The emphasis of Sallie's job is to help everyone who enters the doors of Saint John’s feel welcomed and valued. It is important for us all to know that “we are blessed so that we may be a blessing to others.” Sallie tries to help people put those gifts and blessings into action.

Daniel Sena, Facilities Manager

Daniel helps with any needs or concerns related to the building and equipment. Whether it is a few tables, a TV, coffee or A/C, he's here to help and serve.

Julie Sieverman, Operations Manager

Julie oversees the church office, finances, and administrative staff. She can help with questions about pledges, donations, and alternate giving options, such as gifts of stock shares.

Ed Snouffer, Associate Director of Music
Ed's primary responsibility is being pianist at the 11:00 service and accompanist for the Chancel Choir and Trinity Singers. He is the Director of Choral Activities at Westlake High School, and puts his conducting skills and vocal expertise to good use in sectional rehearsals and participating in special music events with the choirs. He sings with Austin's premier choral group, Conspirare, and occasionally with the Saint John's Singers.

Holly Sudduth, Newsletter Editor
(512) 452-5737.  Holly oversees our weekly newsletter, which also includes our calendar of upcoming worship, service, educational, and social activities.  Please send her submissions by the previous Thursday (yes, 10 days before!) at 5:00 p.m. for inclusion in the following Sunday's newsletter.

Audrey Zieger, Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

The first voice you hear when you call the church office— the person at the front desk. Audrey directs you to the person who can best help you or answer your question, schedules rooms for meetings, produces the bulletins for worship services and oversees the Postal Pros.
